Welcome Service: Advice for international professionals

Anyone coming to the district from abroad to study or work here has many questions. The Welcome Service offers consultation hours for those seeking advice and employers.
The shortage of skilled workers is becoming increasingly noticeable in this country. Without the immigration of foreign workers, it will become increasingly difficult for companies to meet the resulting demand for personnel. The district of Böblingen has recognized this development and, with the Welcome Service, provides local companies with a platform to find and retain foreign skilled workers. Behind the Welcome Service Region Stuttgart (WSRS) is the Stuttgart Region Skilled Workers Alliance, sponsored by Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart GmbH and supported by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Tourism. The WSRS has also been offering consultation hours in the Böblingen district for several years.
Typical consulting topics for skilled workers include job searches, recognition of foreign school and professional qualifications or German courses

Living a culture of welcome

In addition to assisting those seeking advice, the Welcome Service also organizes presentations and online seminars for companies and international skilled workers. Application and entry into the job market, re-entry for migrants or income tax in Germany are topics that are discussed. Telephone advice is also available, and interested parties can obtain advice without making an appointment at the Welcome Center Stuttgart, a joint information point of the Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation and the City of Stuttgart. The Welcome Service aims to contribute to a living culture of welcome and recognition so that the economy in the Böblingen district continues to flourish and people feel at home here.
