Training atlas: Ready to enter the world of work
Which apprenticeship is right for me? The training atlas, which will be published for the sixth time in September 2023 by the Böblingen district economic development agency, provides help in choosing the next step in your career.
As a web and print version, the training atlas presents the diverse training opportunities and companies in the district
From skilled trades to gastronomy and industry to the service sector: there is no shortage of sectors and specialist areas that are suitable for training in the Böblingen district. But what does the day-to-day work of a cutting machine operator or refrigeration technician actually look like? What skills should I have and how much do I earn? The training atlas of the Böblingen district provides answers to these questions. As a guide to starting a career, it presents exciting job profiles and the type and content of training. Trainees of tomorrow will also find out what requirements they need to meet. They also receive helpful tips on how to apply, such as how to create convincing documents or how to prepare for a job interview.
Employers in the district also benefit from the guidance in the training jungle: the training atlas gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to present their company and their career opportunities for young people and appeal to young people. At the same time, the magazine also provides information on the Federal Voluntary Service, dual study programs, financial support for trainees and vocational schools in the district. With its wide range of educational opportunities and attractive employers, the training atlas not only provides guidance on starting a career, but also describes the economic diversity and entrepreneurial performance of the Böblingen district.
Commitment to the next generation
How important it is for companies to be in contact with young professionals is made particularly clear by their commitment. "The willingness to participate in the brochure was very high. This also shows the enormous demand for trainees that now exists in the district," says business promoter Meßmer. Since 2018, the training atlas has been produced annually in collaboration with BVB-Fachverlag and various companies, institutions and social facilities.
The Move education portal
In order to help young people in their final year to choose a career, schools in the district receive a printed version of the training atlas. It can be downloaded free of charge in electronic form from the FindCity homepage or the MOVE education portal. MOVE is the central platform for anyone planning to enter the world of work or study. It provides information on general and vocational schools in the district, training occupations and educational opportunities such as dual training preparation (AVdual).
