The district of Böblingen has six public vocational schools that open up various paths into a diverse professional world and also offer opportunities for further vocational training. Around 40 different training occupations are offered in the Böblingen district alone. The vocational schools are characterized by their diversity and proximity to the local economy. No matter what qualifications the vocational students have: The vocational schools provide a path to the realization of the respective professional career. The aim is to promote individual talents and the acquisition of professional skills in the individual economic sectors, including banking and insurance, trade and crafts, agriculture, industry, health and social services or administration and services.
The six vocational schools offer the opportunity to complete vocational training in the dual system. This means that in addition to practical in-company training in the respective company, subject-specific lessons are taught at the relevant vocational school on a weekly basis or on certain days of the week. Students who wish to gain further qualifications can attend a vocational school where they can, for example, obtain a qualification as a master craftsman, technician or business administrator. In addition to teaching, each of the six vocational schools also offers school social work. Here, students not only receive support in personal matters, but also expert advice on all aspects of professional life.
In addition to vocational training, it is also possible to obtain a school-leaving certificate at the vocational schools: Hauptschulabschluss and Mittlerer Bildungsabschluss, Fachhochschulreife or Abitur are on the agenda. The vocational schools even offer the opportunity to qualify for a later course of study. The vocational school, vocational college and vocational grammar school offer interesting and forward-looking profiles with a focus on commercial, technical, social or economic subjects.
