Expert advice in the funding jungle
Local authorities and companies face a variety of challenges that often require support from the state. The district economic development agency has set up a funding advice service for this purpose.
There are certainly many opinions on the EU, but there is no lack of will in Brussels to support the member states. Until 2027, the EU will provide funding amounting to 1.8 trillion euros - in numerous funding programs with abbreviations such as ERDF, EAFRD or ESF. In addition, there are other funding programs from the federal government and the state of Baden-Württemberg - not to mention foundations and institutions that also offer their own funding programs. It is not easy to keep track of all this and to acquire the right funding. This is where the funding advice service of the district economic development agency can help. The advisory service not only filters calls for proposals and forwards them to interested parties, but the business development professionals also advocate greater transparency in the funding programs vis-à-vis the funding providers.

The district is a strong supporter of the KI-Lab Region Stuttgart
The district economic development agency draws on a close network in the region for advice and thus brings together different project partners. In this way, the district economic development agency also intensifies inter-municipal cooperation. Whether it's digitalization, sustainability or social justice, the funding advisory service helps companies and municipalities to identify and apply for suitable funding.
Fit for the future through promotion
One example of the support provided by the district of Böblingen is the KI-Lab Region Stuttgart. Together with the Zentrum für Digitalisierung Region Stuttgart (ZD.BB), the Herman Hollerith Zentrum (HHZ ) and the Softwarezentrum Böblingen/Sindelfingen, the district supports the innovation lab, which offers small and medium-sized companies a unique range of information, advice and training on the topic of artificial intelligence (AI). "Dealing with the topic of artificial intelligence is extremely worthwhile, as this will be a decisive success factor in competition in the future," says Alexander Rossmann, Head of the HHZ and Professor of Digital Business Models.
In the AI Lab, companies can try out artificial intelligence applications for themselves. They are accompanied by an experienced team of experts who also conduct virtual AI training sessions. In this way, the district is supporting local companies in one of the most important future areas of the economy.
